"Wait." Gosh his husky voice feels soo good to my ears.
I turned towards him in response and said in a questioning tone "yes?"
"You..why did you saved me?" He asked, confusion evident in his eyes.
"That's what I should do as a human being." I blinked and started the obvious.
"But i could have been dangerous" he said as he narrowed his eyes.
"But you aren't. And that's what it matters." I replied.
"How can you be so sure?"
"Because before i brought you home i checked and you didn't had any weapons on you and you had an id card. So i guessed you're just a regular employee."
And for the reply he just nodded his head. Guess the conversation is over. I then went to my closet to grab a yellow floral print top and green jeans. I head back to the living room and dropped my clothes on the couch. I went back to the kitchen and ate my breakfast. After eating i went to the washroom to get ready.
After i got ready and applied little bit of lip balm. I went to my room to grab my bag and other things i would need today. I looked at him and he was asleep and that's when I realised that we haven't properly introduced each other. Well if the god wanted he'll be still here and we might get a chance to know each other. Or be strangers again.
I pushed his thoughts in the back of my mind and went to the lab.
I finished my work early today. And tomorrow is the day off. Good. Now I'll have time to talk to the hot stranger. Only if he's still there. And with a long sigh, i opened the door.
And to my surprise, i came face to face with the gorgeous man drinking water in my kitchen.
He looked at me and gave a slight smile in my direction as he put the glass into the sink.
"I was a little hungry so i ate the leftover," he pointed towards the pot in which i made 'khichadi' yesterday and continued "whatever that was. Hope you don't mind."
"Oh!! No, absolutely not." I said crossing my hands infront of me in deniel. I swear i heard him chuckle but when I looked at him there wasn't anything out of place. Maybe i really mistook that.
"When did you wake up?" I asked as i dropped my bag on the couch and went to grab my clothes to change.
"Three hours ago." I gave him a nod and shut the bedroom door. Finally got the room for myself.
I freshened up and changed my clothes. I looked at the time, it was 7:00pm.
As i made my way towards the kitchen, i saw him inside. I went closer and haw him making pasta. I couldn't help but ask him "you know how to cook?"
He cast a glance at me with a smile before shifting his attention back to the pan in which he was making mac and cheese? I don't know much about what people eat here as I've always cooked Indian food at home. And barely eat outside.
"I used to live alone. And prefer silence, so i cook for myself. Though it's the first time someone else is going to eat food cooked by me." He said as he transferred everything to a baking tray and added loads of cheese on top.
Looks like I'll be eating American food today. Wait. I haven't told him my name yet. It's now or never. "By the way, i haven't introduced myself. My name is Anamika."
"Anamika." He tested my name. And goddd!!! It sounded soo different from his mouth. I mean I'm used to people here not being able to pronounce my name properly. But he actually pronounced it so perfectly.
"It's quite an unusual name." He said. I nodded and replied "it is here. But it's actually a common name from where i am from."
"And where are you from?" He asked and the tiny bit of curiosity in his voice didn't go unnoticed by me.
I smiled and said "Jaipur, India."
I saw his eyes widened in realisation, "oh, so you're from India." I nodded with a smile and made my way towards the oven. I checked it as I say "tell me something about you."
"Well, my name's Alexander Gray. And still single. Didn't had a single girl friend in the past. Waiting for the 'one'. And i work in Xanders Co. And I'm the only child of my parents. Anything else you would like to know miss Anamika?" He said.
His words made me giggle. So much detailed answers as if I'm interviewing him on a blind date.
"And do you want me to marry you with this much detailed answer?" I said jokingly.
"Well, since you saved my life, I'll be happy to repay you in this way." He replied by bowing his head.
I looked at him, shocked. And then we both burst out laughing.
